I got up very early this July morning to be in position to see what I hoped would be a beautiful summer sunrise at Chasm Lake. As I waited in anticipation of what was to come the first light of the day began to reflect dully off the Diamond of Longs Peak. I thought maybe things weren't going to turn out as I had wished. But then, all of a sudden, the Diamond began to glow in brilliant red with no wind to disturb Chasm's calm. It was a marvelous morning!
